I just ordered Resolux 15x70 from Orion, based on very good reviews of this model manufactured by Kunming United Optics Corp. in China. Although the Oberwerk and Garrett versions of these binoculars were a little cheaper, I decided to go with Orion since I've had very good support experiences with Orion in the past with telescopes. The Astro-Physics version of these binoculars were about the same cost including shipping, but they didn't have any in stock.
Are all of the models that seem identical to the Resolux 15x70, from different vendors, the exact same binocular from Kunming United Optics Corp., except branded with different distributor labels? Or are there subtle differences, ordered by the distributors? Could one vendor require them to do a bit better on the coatings, or use a slower, better kind of lens polishing, for example?
BTW when I go to http://www.united-optics.com/index.html, my antispyware software Malware Bytes' Anti-Malware, running in real time, repeatedly reports that it is blocking something from that site.

Without actual evidence from Kunming-United the various clones of the 15x70 would appear to be the optically the 'same' . The specs. appear to be consistent - premium coatings, same robust build etc. and there does appear to be a reported optical similarity across the range. I think Kunming-United would want consistency for their 'flagship' versions.

Some models don't have threaded eyepieces for filters. I noticed on a dutch forum that the AP 15x70 has no threaded eyepieces.
Strange that the UO website talkes now about BA10 series too but shows BA 8 series instead however...
