Dear observers,
I would like to show you my sketch from Clavius at terminator this night. Time was 18:15UT, instrument my Intes 6"-Mak@180x. The image is mirror reversed.
Keep observing!

Uwe,
This is a fine capture of crater Clavius near the terminator. It shows the strong shadows and bright rims as seen at the eyepiece. Thanks for posting.

Lovely pools of shadow in and around Clavius' starkly lit features, Uwe superb sketch! Clavius is such a big crater, it would have become a basin if the impactor had been much more massive or had more kinetic energy.

Uwe,
Wie gehts? That's a very nice drawing. I'll never look at Clavius the same again! I have a Chinese/Bosma/No-Name 6" Mak. It's no Intes, but your drawing has inspired me to take it out for some lunar observations.
Keep up the good work, Mike

When drawing such a large crater it is not possible to catch all visible detail. I tried to sketch the deep shadows accurately at least. Thank you for your comments. I am especially pleaced to have encouraged Mike to look at the moon more often.
