They look to be the Pentax version of Nikon's Action 10x50. Couldn't locate anything with a search, might have done it wrong. How do these compare? I like Pentax, wish I could afford the PCF WPIIs in that range. Maybe I missed a review somewhere..
Thought about the Bushnell Legend 10x50 poro but after reading Edz description of a rather "soft" image when compared to the Nikons made me wonder..

Hi Zant ,
My experiences with the XCF are limited to about 5 minutes .
That was plenty of time for me to realise this was almost certainly the most mediocre optical instrument that someone at Pentax must have given someone in China the green light to stick their logo onto .

I had a chance to spend better part of an hour comparing binos at an outfitter's store sale. The Pentax name made me look at the lower-cost XCF too. The XCF are by no means a PCF!
I have no complaints about Legend 10x50. As best as I recall EdZ saw lower *boosted* resolution (with auxilliary magnifier) on the Legend porro; however to me the unboosted image in normal use does not seem soft hand held or mounted. They can be found a bit less than Nikon AE or Pentax PCF. The 12x50 AE or Legend might be worth looking at too if you can test handholding at 12x vs. 10x.
Looking into brightly lit and deeply shadowed areas of the warehouse store, I compared the 8x42 size in Legend porro with XCF, Legacy, H2O, Action, "Audubon" (brand not Swift model), Alpen, Brunton, and a few others +/- in price, and the 8x42 Legend porro & roof held up best to my eyes in that size and low-mid price range.
From what I recall of EdZ's exhaustive small bino reviews, the Nikon AE 10x and 12x50 led the pack overall in this price range. The Legend was not too far behind and did well in transmission or limiting magnitude.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Looks like I'll be passing on the XCFs.. I recently purchased the Pentax 8x40 PCF WPII and love them. Would like to own the 10x or 12x of that but kind of pricey. Hell the 8x40s weren't cheap for my limited budget.
The 8x40s work really well for day and night I've found, but I'm so addicted that I want more! LOL I have a pair of 10x50 Bushnell Permafocus but don't care for them..
Yeah I was considering a jump to 12x, just looking at the numbers. The Bushnell Legends are tempting, but noticed the weight of 50.5 oz if the info was correct. I know my experience with the 60oz Barska Cosmos was more than I was prepared for..

28.01 oz / 794g found that a few times for the 12x50 Legends. I guess 50oz was a misprint.
At $124 I'm liking that price..we'll see.
Thanks again!
