Hi everyone. Posted yesterday abiut my ETX 90 with Autostar having a mind of its own. Well i did a reset, Train drive, and calibrated motors. All seems to be working well now except... When I pick my go to object it slews and orients correctly, however when I pick a planet i.e. Jupiter it tells me slewing but the scope dosen't move. Everything else seems too be working properly. Do you think things are pointing to a software issue with the Autostar? Stars, Constellations, Deep sky do slew properly, just the planets don't.

It's possible. Planets have their own proper motion in the sky, in addition to standard sidereal motion caused by the Earth's rotation. The AutoStar is supposed to recognize when you're observing items in the solar system and track accordingly, but if it got what we technical types like to call a "brain fart", it might very well have an impact on tracking planets.
Try observing the moon and see if the scope tracks it for a few minutes, then switch to Jupiter. It's entirely possible your AutoStar firmware version may need to be updated.

Did use the "Go To" Moon and it slewed right to it. Tried entering Jupiter next and Autostar said slewing but scope didn't move.Ugh!!

How peculiar...well, short of either another RESET or re-flashing the firmware, I got nuthin'. I believe there is a setting buried somewhere in the menus for manually selecting a tracking method, but I've honestly never had to use it. Usually when you select an object, it automatically picks the appropriate tracking.
