I have an AZ4 and love it. The steel legs that come with it look identical to my SVP legs, however I have not actually tried it. Not sure about the CG5. I would call or email SW USA. When I bought my mount they were very quick to reply to my questions. It's worth exploring. The mount is excellent.

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm its an EQ5 I have at the moment, and not a CG5 as thought. I hope it is swapable... any other help is greatly received.

Cheers from across the pond!.

I could be way off here... But I think the CG5 tripod and the AZ4 NEQS tripod are exactly the same. I think there made in the same factory in China.

This is what I think?... now I have the EQ5 tripod currently, and I had used that tripod under the EQ3 mount before... so I hope this is all swapable stuff.

Has anyone actually removed the AZ4 mount from the tripod?.. could anyone check this for me, thanks

Have you called over to Astronomics, OPT or High Point Scientific ?
These folks are VERY knowledgeable in this sort of thing. They may have models sitting right in front of them on the showroom floor that they can try it out on. I know I've anwered a bunch of questions over the years with a quick phone call.
