Markus, excellent sketch of Jupiter! I like the view you caught of Callisto's shadow cast upon the SEB. Just a marvelous drawing! Welcome to Cloudy Nights and the Sketching Forum. Looking forward to your next sketch.

Markus,
Nicely done sketch. Jupiter is now well positioned after nightfall for observation and sketching. Thank you for posting this excellent pencil drawing of Jupiter, many of its features, and the moon shadow of Callisto.

Welcome to The Cloudy Nights Sketching Forum.
Excellent observations of Jupiter and the Pleiades (M45). You have recorded a good amount of detail over Jupiter. The Pleiades observation is well done. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Hi Markus,
nice sketch, but

...
it´s not been the shadow of Kallisto, but the moon itself: http://www.aau.telebus.de/Ver_7/user/Torsten_Hansen/Jupiter20090927/Jupiter20090927alpo6zeitenw.jpg
Kallistos shadow followed at 06:11 UT, many hours after Jupiter set in central europe.
Kallisto has a very dark surface, wherefore its often confused with its own shadow visually, when transiting Jupiter.

Torsten

Welcome to Cloudy Nights, Markus. I live in a city in Florida, so don't have the best skies and was observing Jupiter, too, with a small refractor. Your sketch definitely shows more detail than I was able to see, congrats!

Hallo Torsten,
a german "schön von Dir zu hören"
your are right ,it was Callisto not his shadow.I controlled it by my "KOSMOS Himmelsjahr" .You have made great photograph of Jupiter and Callisto.
Hi Jay,
thank you.For living in a city of 175000 people I am very happy with my observing place. There are no big light pollution near my place and in south direction the sky is okay. You have great sketches in your Album,I like them. And you have a lot of scopes.
