Mike,
I've had one for quite a while. Impressions:
--> Nice, light, portable mount that tracks well if aligned properly. Even so, the mount holding tray on the tripod is metal and very rigid. --> Battery life is quite good and will last many long days of tracking. This is due in part to the lack of necesssary slewing; after all, you're only looking at one object! --> Aligning can be tough. Since it is an alt/az mount you must find true north (in the daytime!) and level the mount. An eyepiece compass/bubble level is included but is good only for a rough alignment. --> The tripod is the weak link. The spread is too narrow, making it somewhat unsteady especially at full extension. There is no center spreader either, just a tray that mounts to one leg. This may sound like a deal-breaker but I replaced my tripod legs with another set with a spreader and that stiffened everything up!
So, I'll be curious of your findings. Have fun!
Regards, Marc
