CGEM - Snug RA FYI
      #3380975 - 10/09/09 07:41 PM

I went to balance my scope on the CGEM just now and noticed the RA was unusually snug.
I looked around and moved it manually and didn't see or hear anything out of the norm, then I unscrewed the back cap to check the backside and it freed up instantly. I didn't notice the cap being cross threaded or over tight, so I don't know what it was... but it's gone now.

Another addition to my pre-flight check list.

Double check that that cap isn't touching an inner locking ring. If it is, check that the locking ring isn't loose.
If the locking rings loose, readjust to smooth turning while fully loaded, and re tighten the locking ring setscrews. (there may be 1, 2 or 3 setscrews. All depends on the manufacturer.
