Does anyone remember those old Jaegers focusers? They all used a brass fluted rod as the pinion to engage the rack on the focuser tube. Does anybody know where I can get that rod? Thank you, Bill

Bill; Try W M Berg company. What you are looking for is brass pinion stock. They have a nice web site.

I think some place I have an Edmound brass rack and pinion for a focuser I think it has knobs. I do not know if it's the same. Can show me a picture? I think this has a 1/4" shaft.

Could be the same as Edmund. I have bought this brass pinion stock from "Coles Power Models" in Texas. Do a search and see if still in business and call and talk in person.
The focuser shaft I think is 1/4". You just cut to length and the pressure of the knobs bottoming out on the body controls tension.
