Dual axis drives on an EQ-2
      #3382048 - 10/10/09 12:20 PM

Is there any way to install dual axis drives on a Synta EQ-2 mount? Orion makes EQ-3 drives, can they somehow be jury-rigged to an EQ-2? I'm curious about having a little motorized equatorial mount for small scopes and as a camera platform.

You only need the RA drive. Neither motor (if you got both) slews fast, only about 8x sidereal, so tracking is all you really are looking at. I found this one...

Can't find the kind that used to be available, similar to the EQ-3 model.

Forget that one. Here you go...

Also at Orion...
