Okay, maybe not really "mad."
Hi gang:
I've just posted the first installment of my telescope-making diary on my web site. I hope you’ll drop in and follow along as I go through all the steps I take to make my new scope. If you’re building your own Dob, or simply curious about what’s involved, I think you’ll find lots of interest in this series. And who knows, you might even pick up a few handy tricks and tips along the way.
Happy reading!
Gary

Looking forward to it... especially the tips!
I've made some minor mods to previous dobs but now I have an 8" F/7 on the way without any mount at all. I'm a little nervous about making one from scratch but also excited at the same time. It'll give me some "artistic freedom".
It'll also motivate me to use up some wood I've had laying around my shop for longer than I care to admit.
So, looking forward to your updates Gary! Sam

Gary, I'm in the process of building a 10" version of your travelscope which IMHO is ridiculously awesome....love how it nests neatly together!

Wanna bet...building a telescope when you can just go and buy one?
Talk to my family...you're certifiable.
