Mini Mount Question...
      #3384097 - 10/11/09 05:15 PM

In most of the pictures I've seen of the Mini Mount, Ioptron shows the hand controller up against the mount body, with no apparent means of holding it in place. Would someone who owns one of these units please clue me in...

How does the keypad stay there without crashing to the ground?

It's just standing on the edge of the mount. What you don't see is that behind the controller there is a small hook attached to the mount. Normally you hang the hand controller off the hook via a lanyard on the controller.

It is a bit deceiving seeing the hand controller up there, isn't it.

There is a small button on the mount. On the controllers for the Cube there is a small notch on the back of the controller to allow one to hang the controller on the hook. With the MT you use the lanyard instead.

Hi Steve,

I know all about the lanyard and that's what I've been using. However, that was not my question. My question was, why does Ioptron show pictures of the Mini Mount with the keypad apparently attached to the mount body and not hanging from the mount body?

While it may look prettier attached to the mount body, it is certainly misleading to a lot of owners. I personally went through the instructions more than once to see if there was something I had missed.

A theory would be that it was one of the earlier Cube controllers that was used to take the picture. Alternately, the person who set the ad decided that it looked better.

I really don't have a good answer for you, just my two guesses.

It is a pretty picture isn't it? LOL
