Its 1200mm long, can the vixen porta cope with this scope? Your 8" f/6 probably weighs more than that. Also, the diameter of the OTA would interfere with the az hub/tripod top. I use an Orion SkyView AZ mount. I find it works well with either or both of my ~ 16 lb OTAs and it might be OK with your 8" Newt depending on its weight. I don't know if it is available in the UK.
