Well I found another older scope in search for a suitable companion to my Tasco 11TE-5... This one is a suitably aged, Tasco branded, white refractor - making it rather appropriate looking!
I say looking because I lack any info at all other then the image in the ad: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/for/1420289471.html
I have messaged the seller asking if he could get a picture of the label, or any spec of model number information off the box, etc... but do not hold out TOO much hope for an intelligible answer - I might get lucky though. 
Looking at the mount involved I am wondering if perhaps this is *not* one of the reasonable quality Tascos, perhaps even one without a removable eyepiece? I am hoping someone here will be able to glance at the image and say "oh, THAT scope, you should <fill in the blank> that one." My only guess so far is that "50x" might mean 50mm objective?
If I purchase it it would be mounted with the 11TE-5 as a guidescope when on the CG-5.

I had one of those as my very first telescope. Got it for Christmas in 1960.
I'd like to find another one someday, as I don't still have that one. It was solidly built (no plastic), but a [edited to correct bleeped out word, let's just say it was subspiffy!), optically.

wow, that was a quick ident!
too bad about the quality... and that 50x really means 50x.
Tim - if you want this one I could get it and ship it your way.... I pop across the border occasionally to pick up packages at a shipping agent so it would not have to be shipped internationally. Otherwise I am going to let this one pass by.

Well I got a good response from the seller, and it is indeed just as you said.

I picked mine up last week for $3 USD. Should mention that I also picked up a fairly new Meade 60mm and tripod for $11 (with red dot finder, no less) and a classic JC Penney/Towa microscope for $5, complete in box. All on the same day. Sometimes, just lucky.
