Orion EQ-2 mount-bolt spacing question
      #3389162 - 10/14/09 01:26 PM

I have a 30+ year old Tasco mount that visually looks like orion's new EQ-2 mounts. I would like to get one of these 1/4-20 mount adaptors or perhaps one of these. Before I order though I was hoping someone here has one of the new EQ-2 mounts (or EQ-1 for the other adaptor version) and could measure the distance between the two mount bolts so I could find out if it is the same as my ancient mount. If it is I will order myself up one of those adaptors and dispense with the ugly angle-iron based home made adaptor.

Thanks

- Sean

Gary

Thanks - that is exactly what I wanted to know!

In fact the measure is identical on my 30+ year old mount... guess I have what might be considered the ancestor of the EQ-2 design of today. I have seen a catalog showing the same scope/mount I have that is 41 years old so this tube ring mount bolt pattern has been around for quite some time!
