I have a Celestar Deluxe 8" scope with the following: Heavy Duty Tripod, new feet Deluxe Wedge with Latitude Adjust JMI 8192 Step Encoders NGC-Max 3.52 ROM w/ tray Fork with RA and DEC motors, base was upgraded with the PEC chip fix and I have the original Hand Controller Dec Cable Encoder Cables Serial Cable for NGC-Max 12v power cable All allen head screws were upgraded with hand knobs Spreader has a missing chunk on one of leg cups but is functional. Some scraps on the tripod but no rust or bare metal. Original Manual
What is the above worth?
I'm thinking about the CG-5 ASGT on sale at OPT for $575. I want to do some low end astrophotography with a DLSR or maybe Hyperstar down the road.
Will this be a decent upgrade or should I look at the CGEM/Atlas?
Thanks, Paul

A CG5 ASGT vs a deluxe wedge? I'd got with the wedge. For your GEM upgrade consider CGEM, Losmandy, or Vixen.
remember that you're at a long focal length with a c8 so you'll want a good mount. I would estimate the market value at around $1,000 for the whole package, maybe more if I knew what generation c8 it is.
You can price this stuff in Astromart archives and come up with a more precise number.

Sorry, I was not clear. I'm thinking about just keeping the OTA and selling everything else.

I dunno, $400 to $600 depending on the market for a fork with dscs. The computer should be worth between $100 and $200.
You really should check the prices on astromart, wedge, tripod etc. There are some real "fork nuts" out there so it will probably sell.
