Jupiter timelapse animation of moons
      #3389908 - 10/14/09 07:28 PM

Ok, so this is very amateur but I wanted to catch the movement of Jupiter's moons one night.
So I setup the DSI II Pro and had the telescope track jupiter via laptop and Envisage, while it took an overexposed capture every 5 minutes (overexposed on purpose, so you can clearly see each moon) Meanwhile, I went out to get dinner and watched some tv.
4.5 hours later, it still had Jupiter dead center in the middle of the screen, and it had captured a good amount of images for an animation. Unfortunately I couldn't capture any longer since it was low on the horizon.
Anyway.. lots of room to improve!

Way to go. I'd like to try something like that with my LPI. You managed to get it to track pretty well with Envisiage from the looks of it

Thanks guys! I'm hoping to get one more in before Jupiter leaves us for the season. This time I promise to start sooner for a longer video
In this one.. I had the idea of doing it while watching Ganymede eclipse Europa, which is why you seen them joined together when the clip starts
