I think this setup will do just fine for M31, M42, etc. but is there such as thing as too much mount and too little scope?

Don't make me laugh... I'd shoot my 50mm camera lens on a Paramount ME if I had one... (only cause I could!!)

I was hoping this post would be at least a little humorous to folks with big scopes... the sight of a little mirror lens on a medium sized mount like the EM-200 is a bit incongruous to my eye... but I'll accept the decent tracking and ease of use. All in all... I think the mount is the more important member of the mount/scope combo. If anyone has a more incongruous image of a mount/scope combo it might be interesting and fun to see...

I may not have much chance given the mount in question when compared to things like an Astro Physics mount.... But I did find it amusing that when I got my brand-new CG-5ASGT the only telescope I had to mount on it was my $15 Galileoscope!

Don, I think you could still add a guide scope and a ST11000. Might have to up the weights a bit, but looks like the mount can handle it
