Im in the process of modding a SPC900 web cam and my laptop is on it's way! I'll be installing the cam as an eyepiece for now but was wondering if there would be any benefit to mounting it to the front of my scope sometime in the future. my NexStar GPS already has the Fastar adapter on it.

The "Fastar" capability on the scope is simply a removable secondary. Hyperstar (and Fastar when they were available) are a mounting for the camera as well as optics that correct the field. That's why they are many hundreds of dollars. The mounting (Hyperstar III) also now includes the ability to rotate the camera as well as performing collimation with the camera in place.
If you jury rigged something to create an adapter for your webcam and mounted it in place of the secondary it might work since the fov would be very small (the webcam has a very small sensor). You might not notice too many optical issues.
Remember that the primary mirror of an SCT is spherical so without any correction the point where it comes to focus is very very narrow, and moving away from that narrow point shows ever increasing amounts of coma.
Personally I wouldn't mess with a C11 like this (an old tired C8 maybe). If your serious about imaging big extended DSOs I'd suggest saving for a real HyperStar III and a small bodied DSLR.

You most likely wouldn't have a reason to. A webcam like the toucam will be great for solar system shots like planets and the moon. For that a "slower" scope like the 11 should be more then adequate. So use the full focal length of the scope with the Toucam, and if seeing is good, add a barlow.
