DSI Exposure time
      #3392134 - 10/15/09 11:06 PM

I'm helping a friend get setup in AP, I lent him my DSI Pro camera. Since the stock camera is not cooled, What is the maximum practical exposure time without getting swamped time dark current?

Other than Envisage & Maxim, What other image acquisition software is there that works with a DSI AND is in FITS format?

What kind of ambient temps will he be imaging under? I don't have the -I. With my -II non Pro, I find that once the reported CCD temperature starts getting into the higher 20's, things start looking worse. Apart from that, I regularly go 8 minutes.

Thank's Steve. He will be using it during the fall. I don't think he's real eager to be out in the middle of Winter.

Even 20C or so kills me, I tend to wait until around 15C (and it's been cool enough for much less than that lately). I usually don't image more than 3 minutes anyways due to tracking issues.
