I´m in the market to buy another scope. Recent problems with my back, mak a painfull job to haul my 30 kgs 10" lightbridge even in small parts.
So i´m thinking buy a 8 inch reflector, i want some aparture.. I saw this add: http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/MOUNTS/gsomount.html
I think this mount is not so stable with that scope, but they sell it with the reflector that weights about 7kgs.
What is your opinion.

Just a thought, (I've had some lousy back problems myself) If you like the optics you have and weight is the only issue, have you considered making your LB into a UC type configuration? That would give you one piece of about 10-15kg (guess for mirror and cradle)and much much lighter components beyond that?
My only reason for suggesting it was I went from a 10" Dob to a smaller aperture for a while with my back and my car size being factors. I missed the aperture every time I looked in the EP. Obviously by my Sig below you can see I ended up going back in the opposite direction due to the withdrawals.

I asked this question in a similar thread for the skywatcher aZ mount. The issue may be is that the scope would hit the tripod legs or the center mount when moving the scope toward the zenith. I've heard this is an issue for the skywatcher 150n on the az mount.

I prefer not to mess with the LB, if i need ot sell it, then the value would be worse. The optics are ok, not the best, but ok. This is my largest scope, my previous one was a Skywatcher 8" f5 reflector with excelent optics, i get lucky. So the downgrade is not something that worried me. 8 inch is the minimum for what i like observe, and i had so much fun with the skywatcher. The Orion optics has a upgrade for 1/10 lambda, the optics would be better that my LB for shore. The mount is my main concern. I own a Giro II with a Manfrotto 028 tripod, and maybe doesn´t justify buy the Voyeger.

NOw you see.. if you have a Giro that could be all you need ?. this is option 2 for me, but tripod leg clearence still seems an issue

If clearance with the legs remains a problem you can use the Orion SVP 16" extension with the Voyager but that might get a bit expensive with shipping to Europe. Perhaps there is another source for SVP/CG-5 tripod pier extensions? You just don't want one sized for the Atlas/EQ-6, the mounting is different.
