1.25 focuser advise new
      #3390742 - 10/15/09 08:06 AM

Hello all, well after reading a couple threads on 4.5 inch scopes, Ive decided to make the jump to a 1.25 focuser.
Heres my quandry , I do not want to frankenstein this scope entirely.
It seems unlikely that posting a wanted add for a early 1970s 1.25 focuser ,with matching holes for an 11T, would get much of a responce.
So heres my question . If yall were going to find a focuser that matches an 11T where would yall look???

The only stipulation is I really dont want to drill on the tube, trying to keep it as original as possible.

You might want to wait until I see how it goes with mine... I was warned by a couple people that the secondary in the 11TE-5 might be too small to use a 1.25" EP properly. I will certainly post my results!

Might take a bit though... 7 day forecast is for rain all the way...

Used a 1.25 focuser from a Chinese made Celestron Firstscope 114 on my Lunagrosso. Yes, it's plastic but that made it easier to cut down. I cut the tube by about 1.5 inches so 1.25 EP's would come into focus. I also had to shorten the drawtube as the bottom end of protruded into the light path. Screw holes matched up for me and to tell you the truth, the plastic Synta focuser is just as smooth as the original Japanese metal one.
