What happened to Steve Waldee's Full Moon Essays web page? I like reading his site but now it appears to have vanished. Anyone know where it went?

I haven't heard of these essays before. They sound interesting. Could you tell me about them?

The only reference I could find was on earthlink but it says it is not there now.

They appear to have been deleted. If you look in the google cache, you can find some parts of his site with the pictures gone. If you follow back to the picture hosting master index, the account seems valid, and personal photos are there, but the astronomy related ones are deleted.
Attempts to reach him on email or through common friends are unsuccessful. No idea why. Some have suggested a hosting service dispute. But no one really knows.

PS - sometimes this means someone got P.O.'d and left the area completely. This has happened a lot in recent years.
A few years back someone who was a longtime amateur got treated shabby by the group he devoted much of his life to. Unsurprisingly he cut the cord and never was involved again. Seen this many times. Has almost happened to me several times - why I am very wary.
Amateur astronomy attracts a wide bunch, and not all of them are nice guys. A single bad run in with one of those jerks terminates a lifetime of involvement - its hard doing this. Sometimes the jerk is unfortunately central to the area - these are the worst, because they leave a trail of human debris behind them ... and can't (or don't want to) figure it out. Ego counts for too much. Human black holes - hard to recognize as such.
And there are some, a few really bright stars, who always pull people back in to the field, where ego isn't a part of it, but where the endless joy of the sky is what they are all about. These people only pull others in, never drive a single person away. Always supportive and never judgmental.
Believe it or not, some from the bad category live in the delusion they are actually in the good category. Worse, they occasionally drop a letter, and think they are in the "god" category.

I hope that didn't happen as I really enjoyed his page and insights regarding astronomy. Steve seems to be a very good observer, hope his works reappear somewhere.
