Is anyone using the ZOMZ Zagorsk BP 26x70 Russian binoculars? These are not widely available but I managed to locate a source that still sells them and I am thinking if they would be a better choice than Chinese binoculars selling at a similar price.

The above reviews are rather old. I was hoping that someone might have bought these binoculars recently if they are still in production.

I bought a set recently. They are good in the optics sense, good in the mechanical sense..but poor in attention to details in dealing with scatter on the objective barrels. If used in any angle that light can sneak into the barrels on an incident angle the obscuration of the view will commence in some manner, either minor or large interference, depending. I will state that my pair appears to be an older pair, I do not know if recent manufacture has this issue dealt with.
The other is that the eyepiece can have debris fallout into the eyepiece housing and one then has small bits that can disturb the viewing 'pleasure', but not really disturb the view. When stable, they are clean enough in image fidelity for me to get a hint of Jupiter's striping.

Would making and fitting some long dew shields / barrel extensions from matte black card not eliminate your problem ?
It does with my 20 x 90 .

It would, but I opted for full dis-assembly and putting blackout felt inside the barrels, and everywhere else. I even made prism hoods for the upper prisms, as well as blacking out that area. Very sensitive to alignment, as you might imagine, when it came to re-collimating. Cross reflection/flare is OK, after that -as the objectives ARE blackened on the edges, lower prisms (closest to the objective) have hoods, but are not edge blackened. The edges of the eyepiece lenses (a four piece set) are also blackened, which is where the eyepiece internal debris issue arises from.
