Solar Activity 17 Oct
      #3394215 - 10/17/09 08:57 AM

Sun visible again today but conditions are disappointing - variable transparency due to drifting fog/very low cloud and poor seeing.

White light, disc blank. The active area reported previously is gradually fading out in both CaK and Ha, but there is a new area of activity developing in the south eastern sector - small and not very bright so probably won't amount to much.

There is a nice row of prominences on the west limb and a very nice "forest" on the east limb.

2009 Oct 17, 1146 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/16. Transparency variable, seeing poor.

Hope to post improved version later, also images of activity on disc. But right now I need a sleep - last night was CLEAR!!!!!
