I just unpacked a new CG-5GT mount. I had it all set an pulled the cap off the upper end of the polar scope hole. I expected to find a hole but instead found a big bracket. My first guess is that something was mounted 90 degrees off of where it's supposed to be. Is there a quick way to fix this?

Rotate the DEC axis and a hole in that bracket will rotate into view.

It's suppose to be that way. Just turn the dec until you see a hole, after loosening the clutch.

When polar aligning the mount, the main scope in the saddle needs to be pointed side-to-side. You can't point the scope at polaris and sight through the alignment axis.

Thanks. I never noticed that on my cg3 mount.
