      #3395699 - 10/18/09 06:34 AM

Been looking this product

http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=1767

Which I think is this sold in the UK

http://www.orionoptics.co.uk/MOUNTS/gsomount.html

Is it true you can swap the tripod to a EQ5/CG5 steel legged tripod?.

Thanks
Rob

The Voyager AltAz mount can be put on the CG-5 tripod (2” stainless steel leg) without any modification. All you need to do is to remove the small peg on top face.

Yes, the head of the Voyager mount can be attached to mounts that have the M10 central bolt and can have the index post removed. The index post is 1cm square and about 3cm long and is bolted to the top of the tripod mount so it's usually easily removed.

I and many others use a CG-5 tripod with a Voyager mount. With the heavier tripod it's a very nice combination.
