I still do photometry but I am hoping to expand my art to painting from my CCD images. They sketch from a live video stream presented on a monitor attached to an astro-video camera. Roland and Linda post their sketches in this forum as well. I moved to Connectict last year from Italy where I have observed planets for nearly 15 years. Since there are so many good imagers, I kept drawing and I hope this is the right place to share opinions and experience about visual observation and sketching. From time to time, I also like sketching deep-sky objects when I can get a good telescope. I am not an artist in any way, just an astronomy enthusiast. I think I could introduce myself with a few old sketches (and a new one), hoping this is not against the rule of the forum. Here is attached the sketch of a deep sky object, NGC 1973. I made it a few years ago with a dobson 500/4, not far from where I made the drawing of Jupiter but at 1,200 meters above sea level. The original was black on white, I simply reversed the colours and the result looked really nice.
