Last night I took my first astro-photos.

I started just trying to focus on and snap Vega at different exposures. All the pictures had something in them. Does anyone know what this might be? Is it a reflection? Is it a satellite? It is a 25 second exposure.

Do you have an image to post? Would help in determining what it was you captured.

It's possible you had Vega in the frame but unfocused. For a 25 second frame and Vega you'd have a nice blob of light with various exposure settings.

Also camera and scope or camera lens info would help as well.

EDIT: Oh and congratulations on your first photo! Getting anything at all in your camera represents a great step forwards and opens a lifetime of fun (and frustration, which can be fun to work through). My very first image is below and even though its barely recognizable I captured Orion! Just about a year ago now and its been a great learning experience.

Looks like you got Vega indeed. I'd say a bit out of focus as the diffraction spikes from your reflector spider vanes aren't nice and sharp.

The light from Vega started out towards your camera 25 years ago, congratulations in capturing it and giving the photons a glorious ending.

Your camera would have said F0.0 probably because you were not using a Lens on the camera, whenever I use my Canon 40D on prime focus with my C80ED it always reports F0.0 as it does not know what the F is of your scope

I've seen this myself. It's a reflection of Vega bouncing off your eyepiece.
