ETX-125 in southern hemisphere?
      #3396617 - 10/18/09 05:14 PM

Hi! I've been reading a lot about the ETX-125 and I think it's the telescope perfect for me. However, I live in southern hemisphere, and I have only heard about auto alignment in northern hemisphere. Does it works similar aligning here? Anybody with experience with this scope in the south of planet Earth can tell me what can I expect? Thanks in advance!!!

Not a problem; works just fine down here

BUT, you may actually be better off with the older version of the scope rather than the newer PE version as there is no convenient pole star against which to calibrate the auto alignment sensors. This is not a problem with an optical viewfinder however...

Well, I'd happly buy the standard version, but couldn't find it at any store in NY. I found the PE in B&H. I'd really appreciate if anybody knew where can I find the standard in NY. I'm travelling the first week of november.

Try the classified here or on AstroMart, and also try the Closeout store on the Meade web site.
