I am considering picking up one of these OTAs as an entry scope for AP. Can anyone who has used them please tell me if the focusers are suitable for handling the weight of a DSLR (Rebek XSi/450DH) and a R/FF? I have a SW 100ED Pro and recently replaced the focuser w/ a MoonLite unit because of issues w/ tube slippage under a load when viewing near zenith, am I likely to have similar problems with these OTAs? Thanks for looking...BB

I have an Equinox and have never had any kind of issue with the focuser. Love the scope and I'm sure most owners will agree.

I have the Equinox 80 and have taken quite a few images with my 450D & TV FF/FR attached with no issues. Initially though I did increase the tension screw on the bottom a tad. It's a great scope & focuser for the $$.

Ditto. The only reason I might consider upgrading (to another Moonlite) is for temperature compensation and automation, otherwise no need.

I have issues with the focus shifting when I tighten the focus lock screw, but as long as I unfocus in one direction by just a hair before i tighten the screw, its fine.

Thanks for the feedback, I feel a lot more confident about this choice now. Clear Skies, BB.
