Has anyone has their minitower upgraded by Trapezium? How did it work out ?

I have had the Timken precision bearing upgrade, purchased the EQ wedge, and Steve made me a custom Losmandy-style CW shaft for my Mini Tower. I can do great Alt/Az astrophotography up to 56 seconds with it, and have done autoguided AP in the EQ mode with wedge configuration. The bearing upgrade is really noticeable in AP; I was discarding 50% of my long exposure subs prior to the upgrade. Now I am yielding over 80%.

The MT is a great mount by design; I have centered a target early in the evening and it is still centered 5 hours later after the bearing upgrade.

And when is the pro version coming out?

And is Trapezium going to do the Timken bearing upgrade in the pro as well????

From what I hear, the regular MT with the Trapezium upgrades should be better than the Pro with out any upgrades.

OK, but what about the pro with upgrades? Died and gone to heaven good?

Do we know for sure that the pro won't come standard with Timken's?

Does Ioptron warrant the unit in the event of catastrophic failure if it has the upgrades?

I think Steve will warranty the mount if he does the upgrades. Not sure. I would definitely call him if you are interested in this mount. If I were to get this mount, I would only get it from him as he would at least check it and try it first. That piece of mind is worth the cost of shipping.
