Here is my second try on the North American nebula, NGC 7000. It's pretty bad. Home modded Canon 10d with Lumicon H-Alpha filter on front of lens. 28-105mm lens at 105mm fl. Orion Atlas, unguided. 4 minute subs x 17 frames. darks and flats.

Definitely need help on post processing. My front end work needs practice of critical focus - but I think the lens also has a lot of aberrations.
My excuse is that this was taken in the City of Chicago (north side) - with all its light pollution, so I guess I'm pretty lucky I can get anything at all. At least it proves astro-photography in H-alpha is possible under massive light pollution. Had to toss out a bunch of frames because of airplanes flying through the frame toward O'Hare airport.
