Your image is scaled down right?
In regards to the 450D, pixels are smaller and your scope is longer focal length so that image ^ has to be scaled down. This is sensor scale for me ( 0.654" / pixel ) http://www.scopenews.com/astrophotos/galaxies/ngc7331.jpg and if I had used a EOS 450D it would be at .6" / pixel or so, even bigger.
That night I took that was as about as dark as it gets here.
Thanks for your comments I would like to understand also.

Nice image Mike. Have you stopped using your CCD...ST402? I hope not I really enjoyed the few PN you did last season.

Hello, yes I have stopped the CCD. (Though my results from it are typically sharper looking than the DSLR.) it is an ST237 by the way, not no fancy new model : )
Here is an update - this is now 27 images of 15 minutes each, run through DDP.

Oh wow Mike , super stuff!
7331 is one of my fav targets, not an easy one for sure, but when those pesky dust lanes start showing through nicey and in detail it sure makes it all the more worthwile!
Very nice indeed mate!
p.s i added another hours data to my original will be posting it up shortly, much improved, and yes goiing deeper with 10-15min subs is probably the way to go with this baby.

This is an awesome shot! Maybe I miss a bit of color saturation, although that would increase a bit the crominance noise.
