Low friction paint for dob azimuth bearings
      #3397706 - 10/19/09 10:05 AM

Has anyone ever tried a low friction paint (there are several such as graphite-based)on the azimuth bearing surfaces of a dobsonian mount? My guess is that it doesn't work since I can't believe I'm the first to think of this. Besides, it would be too good to be true--greatly improve the azimuth motion just with a coat or two of paint!
