Is anybody using one, or have any opinions about which model is best? I was particularly keen on the Baader, but it is no longer manufactured. There is one from Rainbow optics... but it doesn't look as if it will work well with a DSLR. There is also this: http://www.shelyak.com/ (look up the "star analyser") which I really like the look of, and it has a thread for 1.25" EP's... however, the grating is 100/mm. I would think something like 1200/mm would be more desirable, to give a greater spread of the spectrum. Looking through Edmund and other optics catalogs, I mostly came across reflection gratings, which would take far too much work to setup into an effective spectroscope. The only practical thing I came across there was holographic diffraction film, 1000/mm, for $9, so I picked up a sheet- but it will probably leave a good deal to be desired.
