Has anyone ever used a Cokin Filter for astrophotography, like a cheap alternative to a light pollution filter?

That's an interesting thought. I haven't done it though.
Those have a square holder and will mount to a treaded lens at the top; then you slide the filter in and out as needed.

There are red filters that Cokin have and can be used for black and white. I have read that a deep red filter can be used as cheap H-alpha filter.
