At first I thought it might be a Springfield mount, but you can't orient one like in the first picture. My next guess would be something similar to a short-lived commercial scope that I saw for a couple years at RTMC in the early-mid 1980s. It was on an altaz mouting, with something like a poncet table built in so it could track for an hour or so. That scope had a nearly-fixed eyepiece, and used a transfer lens assembly to bring the light cone out far enough that it could be easliy reached across the pier from the OTA. I wish I could remember the name of that scope, because it was pretty interesting. This scope obviously doesn't have the eyepiece configured like that, but the mount looks similar, and I can just see hints of hand controls for azimuth and elevation on the sides of the mount. Are you near enough to give it a look?
