Making the usual noise but mount not moving. Planning on doing a reset this evening. Think it will help?

Check and see if everything is screwed in tightly. Same problem happened to me once, there is a hex bolt underneath the housing. It became loose and after tightening it, I had no more problems.

One of the most common problems is that the small Allen screws that hold the large Spur Gears to the motor gearbox and to the worm driveshaft backs out.

Easy to check. Open the little plastic inspection port. Put a pencil mark across the end of the shafts on to the big gear faces.

Turn on the mount and press the button to see if the gear is rotating on the shaft.

It is necessary to take the motor housing off if one of these screws comes loose. While you are there, you may want to check your worm gear to worm wheel mesh. If there is a lot of play, it is a great time to remove it.

Nothing hard to do there, but if you don't feel mechanically inclined, check to see if a neighbor that is handy will work with you. It is not hard to do any of these things.

Regards.

The bronze gear is rotating but not meshing with the silver one. I can press the bronze one and it then works but they are out of alignment. I also cannot figure out how to take the top housing cap off. Do I have to take out that "screw" that comes in from the back and looks like it holds the unit on? Any help would be apprecitated.

Thanks,

Got the unit off and the allen screw that is holding the silver gear in place was loose. Tightened it and all is well. Thanks for all the help especially letting me know I could do this without breaking it which is my usual practice.
