First horse head nebula
      #3401871 - 10/21/09 10:25 AM

I woke up early this morning and used 18 subs at 30 seconds each, f2, ISO 3200 on my Nikon D700. All processing in photoshop.

Alt-AZ mount, unguided, using CPC1100 and Hyperstar.

For my first try on this nebula, I am pleased with the results. Next time I should image longer I think.

Inputs, thoughts on making it better?

John

Gotta love those short hyperstar imaging times! Looks outstanding to me. I'd be extremely pleased as well with this result. Nice work!

Ya that Hyperstar is amazing , good shot you have there.

I think the edge looks kinda dark like there is some vignetting and the colors seem a bit off , like the blue is kinda purple and the red is pinkish but thats my personal taste.

Wow!! Incredible results with so little exposure time!!

To make it better you need definitely to add more exposure time, more and longer exposures, so you will not have the need to clip the image so much at the low lights.
