Because of the relative long exposures I would think the UHC-S is better for emission nebulas rather than for reflexion nebulas. Yes -- normally the UHC and H-alpha filters are used for emissions nebulae. I normally take photos of M45 with smaller Baader apos but this is really good closeup!
