M45 - Fish Lake Star Party new
      #3401171 - 10/20/09 10:12 PM Attachment (17 downloads)

Here is a shot of M45 I captured along with NGC7331 this past weekend in Lapeer, MI. I am not completely happy with the results / procesing. This is a target thats on my list for when I get to my dark sky site next month. As always CC is welcomed.

What I am really happy about in the photo is the number of faint and tiny galaxies in the background.

Image Details-
14 x 4mins @ ISO1600 (56 mins)
33 Darks
75 Flats
63 Bias
350D Mod
Orion 8" Newt w/MPCC
Guided with Orion 80ED
Atlas EQ-G
Stacked in DSS and PP in CS3

Clear Skies,
Jason

What is there to not be happy about , this looks really outstanding to me.

Good color , no halos , lots of nebulosity , all that I look for in a M45 shot.

It looks terrific, Jason. The only thing I like a little better with M45 images is to have a bit more space around the outer edge for a little better perspective.

But you captured the essence of M45.

Nice shot Jason, A darker site might give you more definition in the nebulosity. Still - stars are small and tight - very nice!
