So this is the moeny shot for me this past weekend. This galalxy cluster has been a challenge for me and my 12"" dob for the past couple of years even at my dark sky sight. With galaxies into the 15th mag and fainter range I can only manage a few members of the galaxy cluster visually. SO while under the quasi dark skies of Lapeer, MI I decided to dedicate a couple of hours to this target in Perseus. I am very pleased with the results and intend to spend as many more hours as I can on this target to get as deep as possible. I wish the resuced image did the original photo justice. I am in the process of counting the number of galaxies int eh shot and will post hte results later. But anyway here is a rather tight crop of NGC1275 (the brightest galalxy near the right) and its companions. I should have a larger version up on my Picasa soon'ish. It is so much fun to simply pan around the iamge at full resolution and take in the landscape!
