Filter wheels and cameras new

If a person is planning on narrow band and LRGB with a web cam would a 1.25" wheel operate with a mono CCD by replacing the 2" nose piece with a 1.25 or would the best plan be to get a 2" wheel from the start?
Considerable difference in cost of filters mainly.

Depends on the chip size. Anything much larger than an ST-10 should have 2" filters.

There are a lot of cameras with sensors smaller than the ST10 that I would be considering.

Yup. Big chips are nice, but they are pricey and very demanding on the optical train. I've gone back to modestly-sized chips for now.
