Quick question:
For some reason, i just cannot remember what the name of the target(s) i was looking at the other night were.
It was "K*****'s Strand", or something along those lines...although i can't remember what the name was (the "K") part of it.
It was a stream of stars between mag 5 and 8, starting in the Northeast and flowing Southwest, and at the southwestern tip there was a star cluster (NGC ????, i thought it was 4477 but apparently that's not it).
The viewing area was somewhat NE of Polaris.
Does anyone know what the name is? I've tried using wildcards on Wikipedia, and on Google, in the hopes of getting this name down, but...i fail every time. It's been bugging me so much..grrr
Anyone? My brain is going to implode!

It sounds like you're describing Kemble's Cascade and NGC 1502.

Thats the only thing I can think of as well. Very cool target with a little wide field scope.

That was it! Wow Dave, thanks.
Did you bring that up from memory, or what?
And why was i thinking "strand"?
Much appreciated all!

Without knowing the constellation you were in how about Kemble's Cascade which terminates at NGC 1502?

You're welcome. Kemble's Cascade is one of the best known northern hemisphere asterisms. It's my second favorite after Collinder 399.
