Love these winter skies. Beautiful, clear skies last night - temperatures in the mid-30s, and a bit more wind than I would have liked. Cloudy skies at sunset despite blue squares in the CSC. Watched part of the football game, but at half checked the skies - really clear. Set up the Canon 40D with a 100mm f/2.0 lens side-by-side with the 80mm Stellarvue Nighthawk II on the CGEM; aligned and did the polar alignment routine. Had the Astronomik 13 mn Ha filter in the camera and wanted to get an image of the nebulosity around Sadr and Deneb. Had to rush as this target was about to disappear behind some trees. Got 20 - 2 minute subs at iso3200 before the target disappeared. Did a dozen darks and then had enough of the cold temps. Stacked in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3 and AstroTools.

Nice image -- it looks like this lens works well at f/2.

I should have mentioned above - I had this lens stopped down slightly to f/2.8.

Took advantage of more nice skies last night to add to the area of this image - made 25 subs centered on NGC-6888, and added to the first image:

Good work there, your image shows just how rich the Cygnus area is in dust cloud and nebula!
