I'm in the market for an 80mm Apo. The scope will be used as a guide scope on my CPC as as a widefield imaging scope. I currently have a ZS66, but with recent changes in my setup, I need something that supports a true 2" focuser.
Currently my shortlist includes the Orion Eon 80mm and the Skywatcher Equinox 80mm - same scope, just different pricing. I recently ran across the SV Raptor 80ED. This looks like a nice scope, but I can't seem to find too many people using it for AP.
My budget for this new scope is in the $600-700 range. I'd like something that has low CA if possible, but I'm not sure that color is too important since I'll be using filters from my urban location. As long as the performance is equal to or greater than my ZS66, I think I'll be happy.
Can anyone recommend a good 80mm scope that would fit the bill?

For imaging, the scope you mentioned with the televue 0.8x flattener is a great combo. Fairly round stars all the way to the edge of the Canon APS-C sized sensor. (here's an uncropped shot I took using the combo http://jmx.ls1howto.com/pics/200909_crescent_widefield.jpg)
If you pick a different scope you'll need to worry about finding a known good flattener for it.

Those sound like good choices but I agree you will need a flattener and they are a bit spendy.
I use an ED80 with a WO 0.8 FR VII and matching the right FR to the scope seems to be key.
I got my scope used and the FR new was almost as much as I paid for the scope.

Jon, that's a nice shot of the crescent. Nice round stars all the way out. I had a few more scopes on my short list, but most of them got bumped for one reason or another.
Lsst night, I ran across the Explore Scientific 80mm. I read the review on here and for visual, it looks to be a great scope. Does anyone have any AP experience with it though?
