NGC 6992 and 6960 mosaic new
      #3403548 - 10/22/09 01:16 AM

I had both of these shots taken from my backyard and I decided it would be worth a run through Autopano to see what came out.

I thought I had done a pretty good job of setting this up but I was way off and I guess I have to make this a 4 panel or start over

33 5min subs for NGC 6992 and 24 for NGC 6960 , ISO 800 stacked in DSS then adjusted in PS CS2.Canon 400D(modded), Orion Atlas mount and the scope is a Orion ED80 refractor and with the 8" SCT as a guide scope.

Hi Erik,

Be sure you've done a pretty good job. It is difficult to make a mosaic if you don't use specific software during the exposures. Next time you can give a try to the Mosaic feature of the EQMOD driver.
The photo is very well processed, I know this area of the sky is very difficult because of the incredible number of small stars there.

Good job!
Sergi

Ya I have seen that feature in EQMOD and I really should have used it but I wasnt really planning on doing this as a mosaic I was just shooting , now that I stuck them together I can see I blew it.

I vote for 4 panels. It's looking very nice Erik. Mosaics really appear like windows to the sky.

You're off to a great start- I'd add panels, you've got great data to work with.
