      #3405454 - 10/23/09 01:14 AM

Hi friends,

http://www.telescopes.com/telescope-accessories/general-accessories/galileomultipleocularholder.cfm

What do you think about its quality ?

Kind regards, Michael

Although expensive, Unitron's Unihex rotary eyepiece selectors cannot be beat for quality. Of course, these are designed exclusively for use on their refractors, but can be modified to fit on other scopes. If you have the funds then this is the way to go.

Galileo brand scopes are 'new' and to my knowledge imported from China. I have owned several of their small reflectors; all of the working parts with the exception of the main tube and mounting/tripod are plastic. I suspect that the $30 rotary eyepiece selector made by Galileo is also plastic. As such it may have a limited performance.

you can pick up a meade 4 eyepiece turret
that is pretty good quality for about $100.00 USD
and they are much better than this would be.
this one looks cheap but i have never tried one
like this.(its not old enough)
Try AM.
one that sold 2 weeks ago this sold for $95.00
this one is made for sct but you can make a adapter
for refractor.
one like this Unitron sold on the bay for over $860.00 USD
a month ago.

Aaron.....I looked at one first hand at the NSP this summer. The guys from Telescopes.com were there. You realize that this has no prism or mirror in it? It operates on the same principle my old trusty Jaegers turret does. You end up looking straight up the OTA when using the operational eyepiece. Build quality looked substantial to me. I wouldn't hesitate getting one if I needed one. Mike
