hey yall I keep reading this observer and that saying theyre observing in a green region or a yellow region.. etc.
Is there a web page taht expalins this, and will I find my region there?

The colors are for differing levels of light pollution. Go to Clear Sky Clock and you will find the light pollution color bar for the city you enter. If you click the bar a map will open up that shows the varying light pollution near your area.

Droid: We're refering to colors on a Google map overlay. I get mine from ClearSkychart.com, there are others. You want to follow the light pollution map link and click on image overlay.

Not a dumb question at all. We all use terms here that would not be know by someone new to astronomy.

The green or yellow region is a measure of the amount of light pollution at that geographic location. Here is a light pollution map around my location. The white area near the center is Philadelphia and the one to the upper right is NYC with explanations below. There are other on-line sources of this map as well as link on that page.
